As part of PhotoHanoi’25, photographer and curator Nguyễn Thế Sơn presents an exhibition spotlighting emerging talents engaged in photographic practice. The showcase features a selection of works by students from Thế Sơn’s fine art photography courses over the years–many of whom come from diverse creative backgrounds—including fine arts, design, and other artistic disciplines. Their work offers bold, experimental explorations of the photographic medium.
Seeking to expand the understanding of photography’s role in Vietnamese contemporary art, the exhibition encourages young artists not only to develop their own visual language but also to discover the potential of photography as a tool for personal artistic expression. At the same time, it serves as an open invitation to creativity and experimentation—at a time when photography is becoming increasingly embedded in the landscape of contemporary art.
Twenty young artists will be featured in the exhibition, representing a generation with diverse and dynamic approaches to photography as a medium of expression. Through their unique perspectives, these works invite viewers to experience photography not simply as a means of documentation, but as a rich, expressive language—one that opens up depth, nuance, and new ways of seeing.
