Renowned for her work for National Geographic covering the globe over the last four decades, Catherine Karnow presents an intimate view from the lens of the consummate insider. Catherine started shooting in Vietnam in 1990, and has returned numerous times, both on assignment and for personal projects. “My knowledge and love of the country is profound. It is an utterly fascinating place, impossible to fully grasp, and always seductive in its mystery “, she said.

Her attachment to Vietnam, her 25-year history of photographing the morphing society and landscape, is a visual diary of how she entered this land of enigma and discovered its twists and turns at every intersection of life.

The exhibition Vietnam – Documenting a changing country 1990-2015 sectioned into periods of time from the Early 1990s, General Võ Nguyên Giáp era, Đổi Mới (reform), Legacies of the War and the New Vietnam (until 2015).
